While ornithological items have been trendy for awhile, it seems the bird's been deconstructed & their feathers are hot now, too.
As aviary themed items are still quite prized, I expect feathers will be with us for awhile.

The winner of the latest Project Runway, Christian "fierce" Siriano, included a final feathered frock in his blow-em-away collection (even though I personally wanted Jillian to win, you could see this win coming...I mean really...check out that bird woman)
Jonathan Fong's window treatment in his design showcase room for Greystone Mansion incorporates a panel of feathers
A feathered cape from Zac Posen's Fall 2008 collection warms the anorexic model wearing it
Lots of feather accents happening in Ralph Lauren's Fall 2008 collection too
I must say, I actually really like these peacock feather earrings from Fred Flare -- I don't know that I could pull off wearing them but I appreciate them anyway
...and last but not least, Indie craftsters are certainly in the game, as a search on Etsy for "feathers" resulted in 4,777 product hits. Wow! <to quote my nephew>
Hmmm, I may have to incorporate this latest fad into some crafty items...looks like a company called Continental Feathers sells some nice ones.
